Poverty, Vulnerability and Resilience in North Asian Rangelands:Case Studies of Community-based Rangeland Management in China and Mongolia
From March 21 to 26, Prof. Wang Xiaoyi and his Chifeng Project team attended in the workshop of “Poverty, Vulnerability and Resilience in North Asian Rangelands: Case Studies of Community-based Rangeland Management in
The objective of this workshop is to develop deeper understanding of the impacts of climate, policy, and economic changes on pastoralists at the 7 case study sites, their adaptation strategies, and the potential roles of community-based rangeland management in reducing vulnerability and enhancing resilience through cross-case analysis and synthesis. Through facilitating cross-case learning and dialogue among case study teams, this workshop will promote participants’ capacity for interdisciplinary collaborative research and produce outputs of an English book. With the support of the Ford Foundation, all of these workshops and outputs will enlarge our communication with international academic field and introduce our project and related researches to international scholars. After this workshop, the framework of the book has been drafted and most of case studies have been finished. This book is expected to be published in US at the beginning of next year.
